We're carving up the MES monolith, and there's no way around DDD here: we hunt for service boundaries through bounded contexts and work out a shared language with the domain experts. We don't follow the book to the letter — we take from DDD whatever helps us agree on boundaries, without turning aggregates and repositories into a cargo cult.
